Licence, renewal and updates

Use for 3, 6 or 12 months on a single WISECP domain; check the term, domain verification and package updates separately.

Term licence for a single domain

The sales model is a 3, 6 or 12-month licence for a single WISECP domain. The same licensed WISECP installation can manage several ESXi servers. The licensed domain of WISECP is verified, not the IPs of the ESXi servers.

Updates are included for the licence term. Lifetime licences purchased earlier remain valid under their own terms. Current prices and sales status are on the product page.

How is the term calculated?

The licence’s usage limit is calculated from the recorded due date of the paid service plus any defined grace period. Re-verifying, opening the panel or the server clock moving forward does not add time.

After a renewal, the paid due date of the service must be updated and the licence verified again. On a term record, a missing / invalid due date is not accepted; even if the status field still shows active, usage ends once the due date and the grace period have passed.

When the term expires

If the licence is not renewed, the management page shows only the Licence and Updates section; the module settings of products and server management in the admin and client areas (power, console, reinstall, tools) are closed, and no new servers can be provisioned. Instead of licence text, your customer sees the notice “Server management is not available at the moment”.

Running VMs are not shut down or deleted. WISECP keeps suspending unpaid services, unsuspending paid ones and cancelling terminated ones; the clean-up of first-boot data also continues.

After payment, check the paid due date, the domain and the verification result, then press Re-check; everything continues where it left off. Keep your update key only in the Settings section of the management page; the update key is dropped in 1.8.0.

Updating safely

  1. Take a backup of the WISECP files and database.
  2. On the Licence and Updates screen, check the licence, version, compatibility and package integrity.
  3. Review the published release notes; use only a signed, authorised package.
  4. When the update has finished, check the module version, the settings and how the test service looks.

From 1.8.0 on, all updates come only from the WISECP Marketplace, and WISECP checks your licence with hostimor.com before handing out the package; when WISECP finds a new version, the Licence and Updates card opens WISECP’s update wizard.
